Would you like to host Escape Pod?

Hello, everyone. I’m looking for people who are interested in guest hosting the occasional episode of Escape Pod. As any regular listeners have heard, Steve’s time is mostly dedicated to his day job right now, and while we have Norm coming on as a regular cohost, he’s not going to be able to do it weekly. I’m hoping to build a pool of people who are interested in recording intro/outro pieces.
I would prefer to use people who have worked with podcasting before and have an ear for good sound quality. Bonus points to anyone with a mic that isn’t a standard crappy PC mic.
I can’t pay anyone, but I can give you the free reign to plug your own projects as part of your guest host spot.

(This also goes for folks interested in narrating stories. I’m always looking for more talented narrators).

Love to! My mic is crap, but I can use this as an excuse to get a good one. I’m getting the hang of the podcasting thing, so I’d be happy to host or narrate. Hope to talk soon. Cheers!

I’ve loved listening to Escape Pod. It’s been one of my favourite webcasts. My son and I do our own small sf podcast for kids “makeshiftstories.com” We use a shure SM7B mic connected to an M-audio box and use Adobe Audition for recording and editing. If I can help let me know … it be honour to help out.

I’m certainly not anyone worth hosting (yet?) but I’m still interested in narration. I have a semi pro studio at my disposal, a tiny bit of time on my hands, and a great love of the magazine. I think I’ve contacted before about narration, but never heard anything back. If I suck so hard you all don’t want me, that’s fine too, just let me know.

I’ve always been told that I am a good reader, and I would dearly love to do a narration (so much so I went out and bought a new mic especially today). I have been a guest on a couple of pop culture podcasts in the past but this is all pretty new to me and I would be more than willing to do a try out on a story of your choosing

Not sure I could pull off the narration side of things (I think my voice is probably a little too flat for a whole story), but I wouldn’t mind being a guest presenter some day.
