Would you like to host Escape Pod?

Hello, every­one.  I’m look­ing for peo­ple who are inter­ested in guest host­ing the occa­sional episode of Escape Pod.  As any reg­u­lar lis­ten­ers have heard, Steve’s time is mostly ded­i­cated to his day job right now, and while we have Norm com­ing on as a reg­u­lar cohost, he’s not going to be able to do it weekly.  I’m hop­ing to build a pool of peo­ple who are inter­ested in record­ing intro/outro pieces.

I would pre­fer to use peo­ple who have worked with pod­cast­ing before and have an ear for good sound qual­ity. Bonus points to any­one with a mic that isn’t a stan­dard crappy PC mic.

I can’t pay any­one, but I can give you the free reign to plug your own projects as part of your guest host spot.

(This also goes for folks inter­ested in nar­rat­ing sto­ries.  I’m always look­ing for more tal­ented narrators).

    Love to! My mic is crap, but I can use this as an excuse to get a good one. I’m get­ting the hang of the pod­cast­ing thing, so I’d be happy to host or nar­rate. Hope to talk soon. Cheers!

    Hi Jeremiah,

    I’ve loved lis­ten­ing to Escape Pod. It’s been one of my favourite web­casts. My son and I do our own small sf pod­cast for kids “makeshiftstories.com” We use a shure SM7B mic con­nected to an M-audio box and use Adobe Audition for record­ing and edit­ing. If I can help let me know … it be hon­our to help out.

    I’m cer­tainly not any­one worth host­ing (yet?) but I’m still inter­ested in nar­ra­tion. I have a semi pro stu­dio at my dis­posal, a tiny bit of time on my hands, and a great love of the mag­a­zine. I think I’ve con­tacted before about nar­ra­tion, but never heard any­thing back. If I suck so hard you all don’t want me, that’s fine too, just let me know.

    I’ve always been told that I am a good reader, and I would dearly love to do a nar­ra­tion (so much so I went out and bought a new mic espe­cially today). I have been a guest on a cou­ple of pop cul­ture pod­casts in the past but this is all pretty new to me and I would be more than will­ing to do a try out on a story of your choosing

    Not sure I could pull off the nar­ra­tion side of things (I think my voice is prob­a­bly a lit­tle too flat for a whole story), but I wouldn’t mind being a guest pre­sen­ter some day.
