I totally agree Jeremy, WordPress is great for authors and other artists that need an easy yet feature rich platform to reach their audience online.

Because the the learning curve and cost are so low WordPress really is perfect for writers that might not have the time or interest in learning too much about web technology, and that quite likely have a rather low budget to promote their work.

I think that many authors would find themselves happily taking to blogging with WordPress, even if they do start out using it as a CMS or a spot to aggregate their social networks.

Wordpress has become one of the most powerful platforms for all websites. It's so customizable, you can even turn it into a CMS. Love wordpress!
