The idea is so vague at present, I'm not sure exactly what that guy is predicting will happen before 2030 and I'm betting he doesn't really, either. I guess I should say that many ideas of the singularity, such as electronically enhanced memory, etc. don't seem so far-fetched or undesirable to me. I immediately think of Ghost in the Shell when the singularity is mentioned. I think many of those guys would think twice if they were facing the real thing, honestly.
