This is my redwing blackbird hunting grounds. They disappeared in midsummer from the area for some mysterious reason, but this past Sunday, I heard their distinctive calls again. I really don’t understand their movements at all, but it seems clear that they are not migratory birds. This is an HDR overlooking the cattail-choked western end of the main pond. I’m actually standing in the pond on ice to take this shot. A perspective I can’t get in the summer without getting very muddy and very wet.
