JeremiahTolbert.com: SF Writer Web Designer Photographer

A new pro rate fantasy e-zine?

Filed Under: SF Business, Speculative Fiction

Someone passed this link on to me via delicious. Does anyone know anything about Beneath Ceaseless Skies? What’s their operating model? Looks interesting, content-wise, and there’s some nice art featured. I’m not familiar with the editor, however.

A friend of mine says he’s a 2005 Odyssey grad, and she was impressed with both his writing ability and his insightful comments on the stories of others. Beyond that I don’t know anything besides what’s on the site.

Hi Jerermiah,

I’m Scott H. Andrews, the guy behind _Beneath Ceaseless Skies_. You might remember my story “Excision” in Ann VanderMeer’s first issue of _Weird Tales_. Our operating model is the _Strange Horizons_ model, but we do have enough initial anonymous donors lined up to power us through the first year.

I got a lot of interested comments at ReaderCon yesterday, so I’m very excited to see word starting to spread. Thanks for mentioning it here.

Thanks for the information, Scott. Best of luck to you, and I look forward to reading your work.

Er, the magazine’s work I mean, but your stories as well, wherever they pop up.

Dragon flies are big enough that I can take some very high magnification shots of their faces. They look so unusual at this scale, but quite beautiful, in my opinion.
