I think this is one of my best non-​​HDR sun­rises. I like the way it turned out–I just wish I had got­ten some­thing else besides sun­rise pics this weekend.

All you get this week are sun­rise pic­tures. They’re okay I guess, but noth­ing spectacular.

Shot in front of my new back­drop, iso­lated, new back­ground added, and col­ored cold because that’s how I feel lately, freez­ing cold! Just an exer­cise in mask­ing and touch-​​up that I thought turned out kind of nice. I see more things I could fix now, but some­times you just gotta let it go. A les­son I am try­ing to learn in all areas of life.

The model is Miss Watkins, aka Sarah my wife.

On another note, you know what sucks? Waking up at 4 AM because your ankle hurts like hell. It was kind of stiff last night before I went to bed, so I was mas­sag­ing it a bit. This morn­ing, if I bend it the slight­est, it almost makes me yell in pain. I guess it’s a good thing my job involves sit­ting at a com­puter all day.

God, I hope I don’t have gout or something.

After not get­ting the pic­ture of the cabin I wanted on Sunday, I headed up Rist Canyon to see what I could find up that way. I only nearly died a cou­ple of times on the snowy moun­tain pass roads. Seriously, not going back up there again until spring. I got well and truly lost and even­tu­ally dead-​​ended at some hid­den CSU cam­pus at the foot of an amaz­ing cou­ple of moun­tain peaks. But before that I drove through a high alti­tude cat­tle ranch. These guys were shy. I guess they don’t get many paparazzi up there.
