My mush­room fas­ci­na­tion con­tin­ues. You can imag­ine what this blog will look like next fall after we’ve moved to Portland. It will be mush­room cen­tral around here.

I was sur­prised to see these mush­rooms this late in the year. They are dried out though, and not really liv­ing organ­isms at this point. They’re like the mush­room equiv­a­lent of leaves I sup­pose. Clinging to the bark that is both their birth­place and their grave.

I just love the intri­cate curls and curves in these. The organic shape of a mush­room is inef­fa­ble to me.
