		<description>I left a comment over on Chrononautic Log, since there was more of a dialog going on there, and since you were participating in it, and I got there from here, I thought I&#039;d let you know. 

The gin/soju parallel really grabbed me, but I think it was a false-parallel, because I don&#039;t know how well I can trust that &quot;gin&quot; was so much a symptom of the industrial revolution. People were drinking much more earlier in history, and so on. Interesting ideas, flawed speech because of the debatable history... though maybe there&#039;s room to argue that the gin craze really was a social crutch. (I&#039;d need to read more to know for sure.)</description>
