In the novel I'm writing at the moment, I have a specific style and I like a lot of the bits of prose and whatnot. So yeah, I refuse to kill all the darlings (though plenty of characters are murdered) and the style is more... lyrical, maybe? Not clipped and terse like some stories I've done. I've thus ignored people who wave said rules in my face and insist I need to change it all. It really helps to have someone else affirm these things, so thanks. :) Thank you!
